The forest is our vineyard.
We believe premium raw material is essential to crafting a high quality barrel. We source 100 percent of our oak supply through company-owned stave mills, ensuring quality and consistency every step of the way. For our French oak, we carefully source high quality logs throughout the premiere forest regions of France. These logs are then milled at Merrain International, our stave mill nestled in the heart of the Vosges region.
Our American oak is primarily sourced through two of our five stave mills in the United States, both of which are located in the Ozarks, where tight grain logs are found in abundance.
Once we have transformed our logs into staves and heading, we sort each piece for quality and grain tightness before our oak undergoes natural, open-air seasoning for up to three years.
