The Inside Story of Wood Selection and Conservation
In crafting our premium oak barrels, World Cooperage is committed to the long-term sustainability of our forests. A perfect pairing between wine and oak barrel is only satisfactory if we can also do our part to help ensure thriving French and American forests for future generations.
How we define forest sustainability: Healthy, productive forests what will continue for generations to come. For more information, please download our Sustainability Overview.
The Inside Story of Wood Seasoning
The most important reason our oak staves endure a natural and lengthy seasoning process is to showcase your fruit. To ensure excellent results, we season staves in optimal climates where micro-flora flourish: our Frenc oak ages at our mill in Monthureux-sur-Saone, France while our American oak season in the Missouri Ozarks.
World Cooperage barrels are available in 24 and 30-month air seasoned oak. Limited quantities of 36-month oak are available. For more information and to request research information, please visit the following pages About Us and Research.
