BARREL PROFILING
World Cooperage pioneered the toasting technology known as “Barrel Profiling”
to provide different barrel styles, each with diverse, definable flavor profiles, all with guaranteed repeatability and predictability. This innovation is in direct response to winemakers’ expression for consistency. AROMA TOAST®
Electric coils produce exacting heat and eliminate any distracting odors, allowing the cooper to focus on the aromas from the barrel, not the oak fires below. Our cooper manages the barrel as it progressively increases in temperature, passing through the charted aroma stages, until he is confident, through his experienced senses, that the barrel arrives at the desired Aroma Toast®. Additional aid is provided to the cooper by computers that monitor the barrel’s temperature and toasting time.
