Traditional Series Medium Long Toast
In 2018 World Cooperage released a new barrel toast in our Traditional Series – the Medium Long toast. We wanted to offer a new toast level that complemented the existing toasts; light, medium, medium plus, heavy. The new Medium Long toast is similar to current Traditional Series options, but toasted at lower temperature and longer time.
In trials World Cooperage found the Medium Long toast:
- Accentuates red fruit with very subtle toast framework, showing extended length and soft integration
- Has supple tannins and adds to mid palate weight
- Highlights fruit complexity with very subtle oak characteristics
This new toast is available in both French and American oak.
After a first harvest with these barrels in the market we are getting back some good notes on how winemakers have been enjoying the addition to our Traditional Series.
